What about the Metro to Wiehle?

Hello, folks I have recieved several questions from my customers on the Metro coming to Wiehle Ave in the somewhat forseeable future.

Overall I believe any condo or housing for matter within 1/3 mile will be in a prime position for above avarage appreciation. Why, for two reasons:

1. They are developments in the works that will take advantage of the parking situation in Reston, which is becoming problematic for later commuters.

2. People like convenience so places that offer a walking distance to home, shops and transportation should be poised for rapid growth. Manily on the north side of the Toll Road. ( Plaza America is a good example of this, especially isf Oracle goes through with the additionals condos as approved)

What the heck are they planning at the Spectrum?

The well known and patronized Spectrum Center in Reston Town Center announced plans to redesign itself. Apparently, there is room for a higher density level!!

Picturing multiple high rises that can accommodate up to 1,350 residential units and nearly 676,000 square feet of office and retail space is somewhat disconcerning!

Traffic in Town Center is busy enough and it seems that one of the last remaining open parking areas in Town Center will be gone in the next few years.

Spectrum has filed a conceptual plan amendment with the county, and a hearing before the Planning Commission is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 18, 2007. Conceptual plan amendments do not need approval from the Board of Supervisors.
